Heather is a nationally board-certified counselor specializing in individual, family and couples therapy. Her therapeutic interests include working with individuals struggling with depressive and anxiety disorders, self-image/self-worth issues, as well as teaching coping skills, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation. In addition, Heather also works with those struggling with disorders such as mood, personality, anxiety, depressive, cognitive disorders, learning disabilities as well as marital counseling and crisis counseling.
Heather holds two Master’s degrees: a Master of Education from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Her time spent in the classroom teaching a variety of ages make her able to easily connect with children and adolescents.
The therapeutic relationship is the most fundamental aspect to Heather’s integrative approach to therapy. She often employs a variety of therapies (cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive, mindfulness, narrative and humanistic) in her sessions which are tailored to each client’s unique situation.
